  1. just saw that Citrix released Virtual Apps & Desktops 2203 CU1 and found these fixed issues in their list for vda 2203 cu1:

    https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/2203-ltsr/whats-new/cumulative-update-1/fixed-issues.html

"The wfshell.exe process might exit unexpectedly, causing new application launches from published applications to fail. [CVADHELP-17310]"

"The wfshell.exe process might exit unexpectedly when the virtual channel disconnects. [CVADHELP-17982]"

I will now install and test the vda 2203 cu1 and report back.

    Hi Aldric,

no sadly not. It was only one client with an application hang event in event log so far. The rest shows no event when the issue happens. I will update this post as soon as I have more information.

  4. VDA 2112 with the fixed StatUi.dll didn't fix the issue.

Yesterday i found the cause in our site but i still don't have a solution for it. wfshell.exe is no longer running in the user context on the VDA server. That explains the behavior. But there is no event 1000 application crash in the event log. That means the wfshell.exe does not crash, but exits for an unknown reason.

  5. same issue with VDA 2203 and the fixed StatUi.dll from 2112. Will try with VDA 2112 and the fixed StatUi.dll.

    Restart the BrokerAgent didn't work.

User today has worked in the office and later wanted to reconnect the session from private home computer which worked but it was not possible to launch any published apps. We closed one of the reconnected apps and have been unable to launch it again.

  6. I'll create a new vdisk image with VDA 2203 and the fixed StatUi.dll from the 2112 fix and will report back in a few days, as I'm unable to reproduce the issue so far and need to wait for user responses.

  7. I have the same issue as Bruynzeel IT Support (NO session is in Director or studio (But on the VDA itself in windows you see a disconnected session with open applications)) with VDA 2203 and VDA 2103 before. Log off session in Director or Studio is the only way to get user working again as I know so far. VDA is operating on W2k16, so no FastReconnect feature on it.

  8. Some users in our Citrix Virtual Apps 2203 site uses downloaded teams (not provided by us in vdisk image) to join meetings. If they try to share screen the session freezes. msedge.exe has the state 'suspended' which I'm unable to kill even as local administrator. If users restart their computer and try to reconnect to the session it's not working anymore. Workspace app launches and disappears.

Is Teams supported in Virtual Apps? Is it supported seamless? I didn't find any clear information about it.

    Anyone else with freezes?

  9. every day user's complaining about they are unable to launch published applications from start menu suddenly. They always have an open session, which is disconnected suddenly. Reconnect is not working after it. Workspace app launches for a short time and disappears. No errors or warnings in event logs on Storefront, ddcs and vdas. But one on the client:

    Workspace App: 2107

    Error Event:

    1002

    Application hang

the program wfica32.exe stopped interacting with windows and was closed

It affects multiple users, which are working in different domains on different Citrix sites.

No webcams or anything else connected by usb to de client device.

We use Virtual apps 2203 now. The issue existed with 2103 before. Update to workspace 2203.1 is not an option because of a bug in it. 2203.2 is not released.

User is not able to reconnect from another computer to his session. In Studio the new connection with the new clientname is displayed.

    Computer restart is not helpful.

The only workaround to get the users working again is to log off their session from studio / director.

    Anybody have an idea?

  10. I'm not sure if it's the same issue as in my environment.

In two sites user's are complaining that they suddenly are unable to launch virtual apps published applications from start menu. Workspace App launches and disappears after a few seconds. On the server, the user was working before, the user is still logged in and all processes are running. In Citrix Studio the session is active. Rebooted the computer and tried to reconnect from another computer, both was not working. No error message. Log off the user session from Citrix Studio or Citrix Director is the only way to get these users able to log in again. It seems that only users working seamless are affected.

    OS: W2k16

    VDA: 2203

    Workspace App: 2107

warning message in event log: Session reliability suspended the connection for user

  11. We've upgraded WEM 2103 to 2203. Agent synchronization is not working. We use the option 'infrastructure service uses windows authentication' in database connection usually, but this option was not enabled while upgrading. As far as I know this means vuemUser is not the database user.

Am I able to change this option after update? The only gui I have is the database upgrade and that's not helping, because the database is already on 2203.

Or do I need a database restore?

  12. I've installed Citrix Workspace App 2203 (2107 before) on my test clients. Since then my user gets the client drive file access permission window for every desktop. In recent versions there has been an option to set the permission on site level, but it's per desktop now. That's unusable in a site with many VDA desktops.

I've configured the reg key HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Citrix\ICA Client\Client Selective Trust\oidTrustedSitesRegionIcaAuthorizationDecision\FileSecurityPermission with no luck. Also HKCU\Software... is not helpful.

    It's a different behavior than with 2107.

This permission window pops up only in published desktops, not seamless.

Anyone with an idea or hint?

  13. Maybe it's because of the known bug with silent installation of Citrix workspace app.

Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is needed for Citrix Workspace App (since version 2107, I'm not sure) and should be installed also, but it doesn't work unattended.

Try to install Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime first (version 92 and up) and Workspace App after it.
