  2. Hello,

Since we have Upgraded our Clients from Windows 7 XD 7.6.3000 to Windows 10 XenDesktop 7.15 LTSR CU3 the Interactive Session time is very slow and especial differs very much on different sessions (see Pictures) - it is between 25 and 57 sec but 25 sec is also Long...

all other values are OK and fast (GPO and Scripts)

How to find out what's really going on in the Interactive Session - how to find out what causes this slow ?

Add the following folders under Mirroring:

    ·       AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCookies

    ·       AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies

    ·       AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache

Note : The “Process Internet Cookie files on logoff” policy needs to be enabled

    https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/profile-management/current-release/profile-management-1808.pdf

for history you may also need to change attributes :

    %SystemRoot%\System32\attrib.exe +h +s +r %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\History

which Windows 10 Version do you use?

we use Windows 10 1803 and it seems there has something changed with 1803 and cookie handling in IE11...

  4. I have added the Folder under Mirroring but still lost login information after the session (Browser and Windows Session) - it seems there are no Cookie persistent...

  5. Hello,

I use XenDesktop 7.15 LTSR CU3 + PVS 7.15 LTSR CU3 and have the Problem that with Internet Explorer 11 there is no history or cookies are available  (AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache)
with Edge everthings works - I have read some posts (https://www.carlstalhood.com/citrix-profile-management/) and applied some settings but no luck...

it seems that IE11 on Windows 10 with UPM doesn't work as expected?

for any help I would be appreciated

  6. Hello,

I use Citrix UPM with XenDesktop 7.15 CU3 with PVS 7.15 and sometimes on different VM's I have the following error and as a result no profile is loaded from the profil store:

    Quote

The "Application-Specific" permission settings do not give the "Local Start" permission for the user "NT AUTHORITY \ Network Service" (SID: S-1-5-20) under the address "LocalHost (using LRPC)" COM server application with the CLSID
    {560B3BE3-E022-419C-8D82-D97843F35BF4}
      and the APPID
    {E55A04E7-7F63-474C-B111-798A15B917E5}
in the application container "Not available" (SID: Not available). Security privilege can be changed using the Component Services Administration Tool.

the CLSID {560B3BE3-E022-419C-8D82-D97843F35BF4} is for the UPM COM Server (see attached picture)

because of this error also the Profile Stream Service is not started...

this happens not on every maschine - it seems that it happens random

what can cause this - how to solve this?

  7. Hello,

I have a weird error if I use Director to show the maschine details:

Data source does not respond or has reported an error. For more information, see the event logs of the Director server (see Citrix KB article CTX130320).

On the client I see the following errors in the event log (german Translation):

  8. Hi James,

I have read all of your Posts in Detail and have done different configurations - Rediect Cache on D: (I use PVS and not) - on startup I stop/start the Norskale Service and Refresh the cache...

As in my last post it seem that there is also a Problem with localized windows version see: https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/398853-weird-start-menu-behavior

In the blog https://www.mycugc.org/blog/wem-advanced-guidance---part-3 I can read "I have instances where "hide common programs" kills the start menu in some environments and not others" - the biggest problem for me is that first there is no clear Documentation about all the seetings and there effects to Windows 7 or Windows 10 and it seems that there are many bugs inside- because it is not always sure what the settings does and on some reboots the Start Menu and the tiles are changed or empty!

    robert

  9. Do you mean the Folder redirection of the Startmenu - no, I have not set this...

(what do you mean with force it back local?)

For me the WEM application Settings are not working as it should - I have set "Delete Start Menu shortcuts" but sometimes the

OneDrive Icon is there and sometimes not (see Picture) - if the Icon is there (I have removed OneDrive from Software!!) and I click

refresh in WEM the Icon is gone...

My Problem now is that I dont realy understand some Settings (especially Start menu Settings and cleanup Settings) - I cannot find a detailed
description/help of WEM - do I miss something?

Now I have another weird behaviour - I use Startlayout in GPO to assign a Layout with tiles for new profiles - if I use it without WEM aktive it works as expected  but if I activate WEM some tiles are moving to another place or are complete lost (see Picture) -  for now WEM is complete unusefull for the GUI configuartion especially the Startmenu - what I'm missing? (I use XenDesktop 7.15 CU2 + PVS 7.15)

it Looks like the same Problem here: https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/389379-wem-hangs-at-processing-applications-each-time-a-user-logs-into-the-vda-for-the-first-time/ but there is no solution :-(

  10. Hello,

After logon the start menu is not populated with my defined apps in WEM and one app (Chrome) which is pinned to taskbar is there twice (see Picture)
after a refresh or start Chrome from the tasklist all are are there and the Chrome shortcut is only there one time...

here are the warnings/Errors from wem log:

    Quote

    VuemApplicationExecutor.DisableHotkeyIfAny()
This operation was returned because of timeout. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800705B4)

  11. Hello,

Is it really true that changing the MTU size to 9000 on the Storage Interfaces in a Pool is only possible by deleting and reconfiguring the Interfaces?
(in Xencenter this option is deaktivated)

we have two pools with 17 Servers (Xenserver 6.2) and many Interfaces in an running environment and I don't want to change this with deleting the Interfaces...
