Until now no side effects - I have not removed the whole file only the entries - now it looks like this:

we have build a new master W10 1909 for testing and if we use UPM and Automatic migration of existing application profiles to migrate our profile from W10 1803

we got the following error in the WEM Agent eventlogs:

 

• LogonController.SetPolicyHivesSecurity() : Error while Configuring Registry Security for WKK\x10test03

• SensOperationsHelper.SetPoliciesRegistryAcl() Some or all of the identity references could not be translated.

 

it seems that alle the Environment Settings are not applied (Hide C: D:; Force Logon Button etc.)

 

if we create a new Profile from scratch without the "Automatic migration of existing application profiles" it seems this is not a problem...

we have upgraded our XenDesktop 7 1909 LTSR Windows 10 1803 to Windows 1909 and are testing now the "Automatic migration of existing application profiles"

but it seems that this is working not as expected - at first logon a new Folder in the profile store is created (see attached picture) and most of the settings are migrated but not the

windows 10 startmenu settings (tiles) - is there no possibility to migrate also the startmenu settings?

now script is running fine - have to look why this and about side effects ;-)

it is really weird - if I run it on the master with PsExec.exe -s -i cmd.exe as local system which is he same as on startup the script runs as it should without problems...

we are preparing a new master with W10 1909 and now have the problem that our Startup Script (*.cmd) which is working with our 1803 master are not executed on 1909 - the error in GPO Result is "The system can not find the stated file" (german translation)

we call the startup command file from Networkshare: \\Fileserver\Skripts$\W10XDSTARTUP.cmd

 

 

there are the same Policy but I cannot find the problem - any ideas?

 

are ther more restriced settings/policy in 1909 which I have to take care?

[W10-1809 CPM 1912 start menu breaks sometimes]

Similar situation here - sometimes the menu is empty as in the first post and another side effect is that some chrome settings are lost between sessions

if I turn off "Profile streaming" everthings work as expected

we have upgraded from 7.15 LTSR to 1912 LTSR...

my  1803 Enterprise get the feature upgrade - EOL is 11. November 2020...

Yes I know that in-place is not the best option - our Image preparation is well documented but prepare 4 new images is a lot of work - so we will test the in-place approach but not with reverse image but we use a second partition on an W10 to boot the *.vhdx disk see: (german)

Our images have very special software on it with some "hacks" to work as expected - to build a image every year seams to me not a practical solution - we will look at W10 2019 LTSR to have a stable version for some years...
also testing a upgrade on a copy of an existing image will be done..

Yes, creating a brand new image is one possibility but a lot of work - we are running now 4 images with W10 1803 and must upgrade to 1903 or 20XX next year - are there any experiences on upgrading W10 to a next version?

[7.15 LTSR - USB Redirection very slow with Receiver/ICA but RDP to the same VM works good]

we use 7.15 LTSR with PVS 7.15 and have the problem that USB Devices (Sticks, HDD) are very very slow - if I copy files from such a device
the speed is between 0KB and max. 800KB/s, sometimes there is a longer break and then for a short time speed up t0 2MB/s but most of the time nothing happens...

 

we have no special Citrix settings (limitations) and the problem also exists if we disable Viruscanner - it also exists if we access the session from Windows Receiver or
from Dell Wyse ThinOS 5070 Client so it might be a Windows 10 (1803) or XenDesktop problem?

 

Update: if I connect to such a VM with RDP with the USB Device mapped the performance is good between 1,5-2MB/s which is as expected - so it seems there is a problem

with Citrix ICA?

 

Update2: if I use the USB Stick as redirected (see it under device manager and in taskbar) it is very slow - if I use it as a networkdrive it works as expected

Why is it so slow as redirected device?

m not really sure that that solved my problem but I have found out that sometimes on my machines the BrokerAgent Services is not started after booting. That is why I set the service to deactivated and start the Service in my Startup command file…

 

sc.exe config "BrokerAgent" start=auto
net start "BrokerAgent"
