  1. Hello,

it seems that some time ago I removed windows store and MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS with citrix optimizer - now I wasn't able to install windows security updates since february - maybe because of the missing MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS folder under C:\Windows\SystemApps... (Error in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log)

is ther a possibilty to recover/re-install windows store and other SystemApps?

    You can try this:

You can also create a Managed Application as a normal application (not UWP) by using the following configuration:

Choose New Application... from the context menu.

In the Title field use a desired name for the managed application.

Configure the Command line, Working directory and Parameters fields as follows:

    Command line:  %windir%\SYSTEM32\explorer.exe
    Working directory: %windir%\SYSTEM32
    Parameters: shell:AppsFolder\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MSTeams

I have still the problem that applocker blocks new Teams also if I set the rule:

    Hello,

We are using XenDesktop 2203 CU4 with Citrix WEM 2311 + FSLogix (latest Version) and have now installed the new Teams 2.1 for testing according to the following Microsoft article:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-vdi-requirements-deploy

We are encountering the following issues:

    • We generate our start menu using WEM, and I don't know how we should create the MSIX shortcut for the new Teams 2.1?

    • Directly calling it through the following path leads to an error "The specified device, path, or file cannot be accessed":
      C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_23335.232.2637.4844_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe
(it is not Applocker which prevents the start...)

Has anyone already deployed the new Teams using XenDesktop + WEM?

I would be very grateful for any help - the old Teams is still running flawlessly, but it must be replaced by June 2024...

    Best regards, Robert

Nobody out there which uses new Teams 2.x with WEM (Shortcuts)?

  7. Hello,

we want to change the WEM Service Account to group Managed Service Account (gMSA) as described here:
    https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/workspace-environment-management/current-release/install-and-configure/infrastructure-services.html#group-managed-service-account

the problem is that we cannot add this gMSA Account into the WEM Infrastructure Service Configuration Utility - because it needs a password
    image.thumb.png.3078d7ae80b9588ccecad168eb935914.png

disable this option results in an error opening the WEM Administrator Console

using the SQLServer vuemUser is not an option

how to use gMSA with WEM Infrastructure Service Configuration Utility?

I have the same issue - seems only to be the Office 365 applications. Tried with other installed applications without any problems

If I pin an Outlook Start menu shortcut created from WEM to taskbar and start up Outlook, I have two icons on the taskbar. If I accidentally click on the pinned icon, I get one more Outlook process running.

    image.thumb.png.15069f1e946ae68da226af853daae973.png

If I remove the pinned shortcut and then pin the running Outlook to taskbar, then it is working fine.

We have the same Problem on W10 21H2 with WEM 2206 - di you have a solutions for this or a workaround?

    regards Robert

  9. Hello,

we have installed WebEx VDI (https://www.webex.com/downloads/teams-vdi.html) on our W10 1909 with XD 1912 LTSR but struggling to get it work
    (installed with Webex.msi ALLUSERS=1 ENABLEVDI=2 AUTOUPGRADEENABLED=0 ROAMINGENABLED=1)

if we want to open a Webmeeting from the browser it wants always to open it from APPDATA\LOCAL\WEBEX and not from the installed path c:\Program Files\Cisco Spark

    %OSDRIVE%\USERS\X10TEST03\APPDATA\LOCAL\WEBEX\CISCOWEBEXSTART.EXE

    why that?

we use also AppLocker and it is not allowed to add *.exe to the path %OSDRIVE%\USERS\X10TEST03\APPDATA\LOCAL\WEBEX\

has anyone some experiences using WebEx on XenDesktop VDI?

    Robert

PS: Zoom works perfect without any problems ?

  10. Hello,

We have two PVS Servers 1912 LTSR CU4 on Windows Server 2012R2 and want to upgrade the OS to Windows Server 2019.

we know the KB Article https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX277841 but I want to upgrade without adding a Servers with new names/ip

but I want to shutdown one of the two servers - install a new one on Server 2019 with the same Name and IP and config and want to join the new one to the Farm (Configuration Wizard) so I must not change the bootstrap for all our VMS..

is this save and possible - any expiriences?

    Robert
