The first Storefront works fine, where as the second one has the " Cannot Complete request error when accessing storefront internally or externally..".

When I select On option of the  Enable loopback communication, there is no error.

but the option OnUsingHttp is selected the the error is appears.

Browsing the Event viewer, it shows a Failed to run discovery event 17.

I have looked other articles/solutions about the same topic, but no success on solving this error.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Akiyo

This is how the issue got resolved.

  1. Remove the non-working Storefront from server group.
  2. Uninstalled Storefront.
  3. Uninstall IIS through  Server Manager.
  4.  Join/Add the new Storefront to server group.
  5. Install the Storefront, this will also  install the IIS
  6. Test  StoreFront Base URL internally.

It was the IIS piece of software that was corrupted.

I hope this helps everyone that might encounter this error n the future.

Finally, I would like to thank all the people who have contributed to this thread.

Bindings would be the usual thing to cause this. Are the certificate imported ok on the non-working server and the chain fully trusted ?

Certificate works fine, when we change the option of Enable loopback communication to either OFF or ON, the site is accessible with no errors.

The moment the option OnUsinghttp is selected we get the error cannot complete your request.
