Read IO for for Elastic Layering

I'm looking to use elastic layering with RDSH. I understand that the share on which VHDs are stored should be optimised for read operation, but is there any data available to translate that into a real IO requirement? Thanks.

The IO requirement is wholly based on the IO of your Apps so there is no way to publish data on what it would be.  But if you are using Session Hosts it will likely not be that high since once one used opens the app on that host the io should be mostly cached.  So the best way to find out is to test with your apps.
