XenApp 6.5 to Citrix Virtal Apps and Desktop Service (Citrix Cloud)

HI there,

 

Is there a how to of moving/migrating XenApp 6.5 Session Hosts onto a Citrix Cloud Management Plane.  I guess the migration scripts are only for going to on-prem to a new on-prem Virtual Apps and Desktops environment and not into Citrix CLoud.

 

As a summary we would have to:

1. Install 2 cloud connectors on our on-prem resource location  

2. Uninstall XenApp 6.5 from a 2008 R2 server Session Host and install the VDA 7.15 LTSR

3. Add the server into a new Machine Catalog and Delivery Group

4. Create the published apps and or desktop

5. Ensure all Citrix GPOs are all done

6. Obviously cannot create worker groups or reboot policies (reboots handled by Autoscale)

7. Add a new security group with some test users and test

 

Repeat for rest of servers migrating a few over at a time?

 

That is really high level - Is there an official doco out there?

Migration scrips basically export all 6.5 policies and settings in a format you can import again into 7.x. That is ANY 7.x environment, including Citrix Cloud.

 

It's high level, but sounds about right
