The Intel i350 Gigabit Network Connection adapter is on the HCL for XenServer 8.

I have 10 identical hosts with XenServer 8 with all updates. All the 1Gb NICs show, at the host level, they are connected at 100Mb. The IPMI port on each host connected to the same switch show connected at 1000 Mbs.
Exporting VMs takes a LONG time at 100 Mbps.
What can I check in my XS8 install to get the NICs connected at 1000 Mbps?
Thanks

I never thought I would see this day, but it has arrived. @John Billekens - GUEST and I are proud to release the XenServer documentation script. With the help of Michael B. Smith, @Guy Leech - GUEST, and the XenServer team, V1.00 is now available.
No documentation script is ever 100% complete, but with the great help from the XenServer team and the excellent work and coding skills of John Billekens, what I thought would take over a year we accomplished in two months.
There is a LOT of data in the V1 output, but there is more to come as John figures out how to add the missing pieces and parts.
Please give the script a try and let us know what you think.

I had the exact issue when I rebuilt my lab. The Citrix Group Policy Management console installer REQUIRES the VC++ runtimes. Those MUST be installed BEFORE you install the Citrix GPMC installer. Uninstall the Citrix GPMC, install the required VC++ redistributables, and then install the Citrix GPMC.
I reported this as a (to me) failure of the installer. No installer should allow a human to screw up the use of the product. If the two VC++ Redistributables are REQUIRED/MANDATORY, then, in my opinion, the installer should detect they are not installed, install them, and then continue with the original installation. Just my $0.02 US worth.
I need to update the ReadMe file to point this out.

For those with CVAD/XA/XD 7.8 through 2006, do any of you have the following Hosting Connection Types:
- CloudPlatform
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Azure Classic
- Amazon EC2
- Microsoft Configuration Manager Wake on LAN
If so, could you run the following on a DDC and send me the result(s)?
add-pssnapin *citrix* $connections = get-childitem -path 'xdhyp:\connections' $connections.ConnectionType
I am updating the V2 doc script for 1912 LTSR CU2 and noticed I don't have those values.
Thanks

Hmmm, I don't see the word "chrony" anywhere in the 8.0 PDF. I would have figured that would have been worth a mention in the Removal section or some explanation of the switch to chronyd/chronyc.
-
Where did you see that? All I see in the release notes is "The Citrix Hypervisor platform has been updated to use Xen hypervisor version 4.13".
I see nothing in the Deprecations and Removal notes about NTP removal.
-
On all six of my 8.1 hosts, doing "chronyc tracking" gave me an "unable to communicate with daemon". I had to do the "systemctl restart chronyd" first before I could do the "chronyc tracking".

Is it possible to manually install it? If so, how since it isn't in the ISO?

I have written a script to help automate this process.

No, PoSH doesn't do that. You can do something like:
$Result = Get-BrokerSession -SessionState Disconnected -Filter { SessionStateChangeTime -lt "-4:00" }
If($? -and $Result -ne $Null)
{
#we have a result
}
ElseIf($Result -eq $Null)
{
#no result
}
Else
{
#error
}
XenServer 8 with all updates, 1Gb NICs only connect at 100Mb

i should have posted the answer, but i am on the road. every cat6 cable from a specific vendor was bad. none of their cables would connect higher than 100mbps, even on a 10gb switch. replacement cables work perfect. fortunately, amazon allowed me to return the cables for a full refund.
