This actually also answer something I was curious on how the computer name was defined. The rtpackage seems to represents the Layer ID but is set to Hexadecimal. If you take the hexadecimal value and look at the computer name you can see the part after the computer name CITRXAL is the Hexadecimal value. I find this to be really interesting and would like to say if the developers planned this my hats off to them.

You sure it doesn't exist on the VM as well? After poking around with one of my AppLayer Versions I noticed the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\unikcdrv\0\rtPackage matches the AppLayer ID.

To my knowledge all App Layers have a Layer ID. I wanted to see if when I created a new version of a Layer if this Layer ID is stored somewhere on the Update VM. Lets say I booted up a new Adobe Reader version which would be called Layer ID 0001. If I go and login to my update machine would some place on the Update VM could I go to see that ID referenced (Registry, some file)?

Hey Cameron, this issue reminded me of something that Carl Stalhood posted about for Internet Explorer. The section to look at is under the "Published Internet Explorer Settings – Runonce" in the link below. You might see if the runonce.exe /alternateshellstartup is enough to get you what you need. I'm not 100% certain if this will help you but it wouldn't hurt to try.

App Layering MSIX Applications - Caching similar to AppV
in App Layering
Posted
I wanted to see if it was possible or any options to Cache MSIX packages in an App Layer. When messing with this it looks like the only place that MSIX would be cached between the different types of layers is in the OS Layer. I really don't like the idea that the OS Layer would cache the MSIX application. I know in the past there was an option to Cache AppV packages in the App Layer so was hoping for something similar.
I have a couple applications that are only provided via MSIX and utilize Non-persistent VDI with App Layering.
