No, the VM can be quiet during the backup.
Nice idea Tobias ;) !
That would be great ! By the way, many ask for that kind of backup..

The problem is that it should always run automatically at night.
My script also works with Vm's where only one hard drive hangs ..
But unfortunately not with several. Or. it would work with several, but we do not want to with certain VM's.

HI,
I am looking for the command so that I can backup a VM on a Xenserver 7.6.
However, I just want to backup the "C" disk .. Since the D disk is very large and it would take forever .. More specifically, it is about a PVS server.
So I just do not need C and D. Only C. The whole thing should be done as XVA.
The command for the VM to export .. I do not find what I depend on the D disk and only exports the C disk.
The whole thing happens at night, automatically.
Any idear ??
Thanks
MCS "permanent" D:\ Drive
in XenDesktop 7.x

Hi,
I have some questions about MCS. Hopefully you can answer them for me.
Question 1:
I did MCS on VMWare and on XenServer.
On VMWare I noticed the following:
Every time the VM´s boots they are rebuilt, that's not bad at first, but what's bad is that the VM´s gets a new MAC address when they are completely rebuilt :/ That's very uncool for DHCP reservations.
On a XenServer this does not happen.
Question 2:
With PVS you can attach a "permanent" disk (D:\) to VM´s for e.g. cache or for certain files like a GUID of a VM for the virus scanner.
How to do this with MCS ? There you can only provision "C".
According to a BISF tweet I saw that there is a possibility to attach a hard disk "D" - independent from the cache disk which is attached to the MCS Wizzard anyway.
It's about a 1909 environment, VDA and DDC. no matter if Server OS or Desktop OS
I hope somebody can help me. I find MCS very interesting !
