Laptop screen goes black when using workspace published desktop(Virtual apps and desktop)

Hoping someone has experienced this same issue. For several years one of my end users will periodically get a blinking black screen on their laptop when using published desktop through the workspace app. It happens with any workspace version on any laptop and is random. Could be every 2 minutes or it may occur every couple of days/weeks. The entire laptop screen will go black and then recover showing the desktop again. The laptop screen only flashes black when the Citrix published desktop is open, it will not happen with any other apps like outlook, Word, chrome, Firefox, etc. We have messed with the display settings a bit including disabling display scaling settings. I have attached a video the end user took to demonstrate what it looks like.
