Adding Registry Entry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER by 3rd party application not allowed

Question

Hello,

we are developing an Electron app that got installed by a client in their Citrix Workspace.

The Citrix Workspace received permissions to install Software, but when starting the application, Electron was not able to add a protocol registry entry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Classes.

Is this the default permission setting in Citrix and is this adjustable, is it possible to have a Workaround in Electron to add the entry without changing something in Citrix, or is this behaviour immutable in Citrix?

Thanks for the help and with best regards

Niclas
