No Session Reliability in double hop szenario?

Hello Citrix pro's,

 

I have a question about session reliability. In our case session reliability is activated and function as well (direct and also with netscaler). With "ctxsession -v" I see UDP - CGP - ICA. But when i open a published application in a published desktop (double hop) I see the sessions only with UDP -ICA. (on the server which hosts the published app)

 

If I start the published app outside a published desktop i see again UDP-CGP-ICA. 

 

is this by design, i searched and read some articles but no info about exact this cases. ?

This is by design.  You don't directly connect to the second hop, think of it like citrixing to a machine, and then launching an RDP session to another.  Only the first connection will show the CGP, the second is a direct connection.

Thanks Jeff for your answer. I understand! That means for me, it would be a good idea to configure ica-keepalive or?... otherwise when the network to the server which hosts the pub app is short down or has other problems, the pub app closes...

I haven't had to enable ICA keep alives unless the application provides no data on the channel to keep the session going.  You should be good to go with how it is out of the box.
