mhudak979
Citrix is getting behind with drivers for newer systems. Has anyone here been able to install drivers (not from citrix) for a storage controller? Drivers for Suse15, RH8+9 exist for some time. Dell R760 PERC H965 Controller Link to comment
0 Sjoerd Van den Nieuwenhof
Hi, Your problem is that the Dell R760 and the PERC H965 aren't on the HCL for XenServer. Which means both Dell and Citrix don't support it. You need to contact Dell support to see if they have any information. Dell needs to certify their servers to add them to the XenServer HCL. You can try the Redhat driver, but there are no guarantees. Link to comment
0 Jeff Riechers
Also which version are you running? You can check the new xenserver preview to see if it supports that driver. Link to comment
0 Mark Syms
This was Dell not certifying their hardware and also not providing the required driver. The PERC12 (H965) is not compatible with XenServer and will not work as it only exposes 4K block size drives the host. Link to comment
0 Jeff Riechers
XenServer runs under the CentOS 8 kernel, so I would test RHEL 8 drivers to see if that gets you what you need. Link to comment

0 Jeff Riechers
Sorry I mis-spoke. Derived from similar kernels as CentOS 8. Looking at the os-release on the latest preview version I see the following. That's what I was basing my recommendation on. This won't change the 4k issue, but at least loading the driver from centos 8 might get some level of access to the resource. Or it might not work. Link to comment
