citrix installation breaks apps that run in sandbox

Joachim Rosenberger

Question

I am running Ubuntu 22.04. Yesterday I installed citrix (icaclient_23.3.0.32_amd64.deb).

As a side effect of the installation I could not open google-chrome, vscode or the  1password app anymore.

I know that 1password is an electron app and chrome is running in a chrom sandbox.

I can start both google-chrome and 1password when running them from the terminal passing the --no-sandbox flag, e.g.,

google-chrome --no-sandbox

However I can not start vscode at all. The --no-sandbox flag does not work.

I suspect that the  citrix "app protection" that is mandatory to install breaks these applications., see here

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace-app-for-linux/install.html

These side effects are pretty unacceptable. Is there a fix?
