FAS and Session Prelaunch - Support Clarification

Hi everyone,

 

I have a customer who is using Citrix Workspace App and FAS for published Apps. SSO is configured and working fine. Additionaly, Session Prelaunch is configured with session duration timer set to 8h.

However, for apprx. 10% of the users, Session Prelaunch is not working. In Workspace App CDF traces I can see prelaunch is initiated after SSO, but neither in studio, nor on VDA a session is launched.

 

After studying the workspace app documentation (https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace-app-for-windows/2203-1-ltsr/authentication.html), I stumbled across the following statement:

 

"When configured for smart card authentication, Citrix Workspace app does not support virtual private network (VPN) single-sign on or session pre-launch."

 

In my understanding, Citrix FAS is basically a smartcard authentication. So could you give me a clarification, if FAS and Prelaunch is supported at all?
