Georg Pfahler
Hi, we are in the process of automating our vDisk Update management with a 3rd party Endpoint management solution. unfortunately the documentation on this is quite non-existent. Our goal: -vdisk update Management task creates a new vdisk version -starts the update VM -Endpoint management installs some updates (Browser, Windows Updates and so on) -Update VM shuts down -vdisk gets promoted to test/production I've got a task which creates a new vdisk version, starts the update VM and shuts it down again after the specified timeout. unfortunately the vDisk update service throws some error ("The update timed out before completing") and therefore doesn't promote the vDisk version. there aren't any scripts specified in the task, for ESD I chose "none". this outdated article mentions a mandatory update.bat script without any further instructions: https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX140210/how-to-create-an-update-task-to-be-performed-at-a-scheduled-time-in-provisioning-services So my question is, how to get the vDisk Update Service to accept the created vdisk as successfully updated. Hi,
we are in the process of automating our vDisk Update management with a 3rd party Endpoint management solution.
unfortunately the documentation on this is quite non-existent.
Our goal:
-vdisk update Management task creates a new vdisk version
-starts the update VM
-Endpoint management installs some updates (Browser, Windows Updates and so on)
-Update VM shuts down
-vdisk gets promoted to test/production
I've got a task which creates a new vdisk version, starts the update VM and shuts it down again after the specified timeout.
unfortunately the vDisk update service throws some error ("The update timed out before completing") and therefore doesn't promote the vDisk version.
there aren't any scripts specified in the task, for ESD I chose "none".
this outdated article mentions a mandatory update.bat script without any further instructions:
https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX140210/how-to-create-an-update-task-to-be-performed-at-a-scheduled-time-in-provisioning-services
So my question is, how to get the vDisk Update Service to accept the created vdisk as successfully updated.
