Can`t add new disk to xenserver

Hi guys... I'm trying to add  another disk (Storage Repository)  to citrix xenserver 7.6 and I'm getting the following error: "The SR operation cannot be performed because a device underlying the SR is in use by the host"

The command that I'm running is this:

xe sr-create content-type=user device-config:device=/dev/disk/by-id/wwn-0x5001b448b0760061 host-uuid=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx name-label=”Local Storage 2” shared=false type=lvm

 

Any ideas?

What was the exact command you issued for the PBD plug? Sounds like a syntax error or possibly missing a parameter. The syntax is:

 

xe pbd-plug uuid=uuid_of_pbd

I have done what the articles says and in the last step ( xe pbd-plug) I'm seeing this error:

Error code: SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_90
Error parameters: , The request is missing the device parameter,

Tobias... forget my last post; I have found my error reattaching the Storage Repository and now my SR is up and running.

Oh, good, I am glad that worked out for you! You didn't mention that this was  a local SR,  and as you now see, you can only add this using the CLI  once the XenServer installation has been completed.
