PVS 2203 Target device takes one minute to connect to another PVS server

When I shut down a citrix pvs server（2203）, the connected pvs target device （2203）on this server will freeze and it will take 1 minute to connect to another active PVS sever

If I downgrade the PVS Target device to the 1912 cu5 version, everything goes back to normal.

 

Environment:
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2203
Citrix Provisioning 2203

 

Has anyone observed similar problems with CVAD 2203?
The suggestions in the discussions so far have unfortunately not produced any useful results. We are grateful for ideas.

Disable the Async IO as per below article, if its enabled and test it.

There are some settings which can be used to change timeouts which may be related - https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX119223
But if all that has changed between your expceted sceanrio and unexpected scenario is target device version, it may be worthwhile opening a case with citrix technical support for further investigation.

I just posted a question about this as well....  Guess its time to downgrade!

 

CTX119223 doesn't help in this case, and neither does disabling Async IO. At first I thought it was 2019 server, but this has me thinking.  Thanks!

After downgrading 1912 CU5, my issues went away as well.  Not only the failover issue, but with 2203 the shutdown was extremely slow.   The downgrade resolved that as well.  I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has 2203 installed on 2019 and is NOT experiencing these problems?

Hadn't got as far as actually getting the 2203 Target to install on 2019, as the upgrade kept rolling back, from version LTSR 1912 CU2 (7.24 SP7 Build 24022).  However in place upgrade to LTSR 1912 CU5 (7.24 SP 25 - Build 24022) worked like a charm.

Thankyou for the heads up though about LTSR 2203 - hopefully a fix soon!

Do i only need to downgrade the pvs target device and can i leave vda on 2203? Or do i need to downgrade both?

 

And do i need to downgrade the pvs server too?
