Disk usage alarm on vm

kostya dubovitskiy

Question

hi,

we use xenserver 7.2, storage LVM, vm windows server 2012 is installed. All this works on the adaptec 8805 controller, Raid 1 is configured, hdd ST300MP0106. server 2012 is used as a 1C server. Lately, XenCentre started to get "Disk Usage Alarm" messages, the speed ranges from 30mbps to 270mbps, at the same moment users started complaining about the slow operation of 1C.

In terms of performance, the total iops periodically exceeds the total throughput. What could be the cause and how to diagnose?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

The purpose of the suggested upgrade is 1) the issue may be resolved in the latest release and 2) Citrix won't likely be

much help on an EOL release. So basically with 7.x you are on your own to resolve the issue. If your hardware isn't on

the HCL fo the 8.x versions, then I'm afraid new hardware is needed as well.
