0 Jens Strohschnitter1709152492
I've found something that worked for me: Removing following task from taskscheduler: \Microsoft\Windows\International\Synchronize Language Settings On a Windows 11 VDI logoff shows always following message (sorry only in german available): After removing/disable the task on a Server 2022, logoff works again. Can someone here confirm this ? 1 Link to comment
0 Jennifer Knapp
Your description seems a little different but maybe the current ghost session issue? https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX338807 Link to comment
0 Jens Strohschnitter1709152492
Thank you Jennifer, no - it's not the ghost-session issue. The session can be logged off via Director. On the client the screen showes "Logging off ..." unless it was logged off via Director. This issue comes only on Server 2022 - on 2019 the logoff will be completed correctly. Link to comment
0 Matti Salo
I have a punch of Win2019 servers with VDA 2112. they suffered from logon hanging issue described on Jennifers post and i fot Privatefix for it thru support. Now i'm hanging sessions on logging off state. So my problem seems to about same as you Jen. Some sessions are able to logoff from director or task manager, but some sessios leave 5 prosesses and cannot be ended in any way. I have contacted support for this problem Link to comment
0 Robert Berggren1709162216
Hi guys! I have the same problem, stuck att logging off. Tested the hotfix, did not solve this problem. Reverted to VDA 2109, same issue. Fully patched Windows 2022. Anyone got a solution yet? /Robert Link to comment
0 Daniel Paz
Same issue here after upgrading to 2112. I reverted production to 2109 with not issues. I left test group in 2112. This is for single session mode and find no way to RDP or perform any remote controls to try and get logs of anything. Link to comment

0 Piyush Nayak1709163845
Just installed fresh Windows 2022 fully patched with VDA version = 2203LTSRCU2 . Issue is user closes the application (for e.g. Notepad), the app gets closed fine on user screen. But user session does not get logged off completely on Server. Also it shows up on "Connection Center" as well on user side. Have not checked anything on "Director" side yet as rest of the Citrix infra is on 1912CU5. I can see following items running under username on Windows 2022 server: The Citrix server is optimzed by using Citrix Optimizer for default template of 2022 Looking for any advise. I can't see task scheduler running: \Microsoft\Windows\International\Synchronize Language Settings Thanks Edited April 19, 2023 by Piyush Nayak Edit: Task Scheduler: \Microsoft\Windows\International\Synchronize Language Settings is "Disabled" now, but no effect. Issue remains same. The Symantec is also not issue as it is working fine on other servers Link to comment

You said, user closes notepad and wasn't logged off. So I think you mean an published application. In this case, did you configure application lingering ? https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX130110/how-to-configure-session-linger-feature-in-xenapp Link to comment
0 Piyush Nayak1709163845
"Notepad" is published application. Its fresh Windows 2022 server with VDA ver: 2203LTSRCU2. Application LIngering is not configured at all. On VDA-Windows 2022- the task scheduler has been set up as "Disabled" for this task= \Microsoft\Windows\International\Synchronize Language Settings Trying to open ticket with Citrix now. Please let me know any other options/suggestions/solutions. Link to comment
0 Jens Strohschnitter1709152492
Strange - try removing the task completely and check if all WSUS patches are installed. We have had issues (with 2019) where no WSUS patches were installed and logging off hasn't worked (on published desktops). Additional please check UPM logs under C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\ .
