Import of VMWARE ovf fails "There was a failure communicating with the plugin

Alan Raczek

Question

I am trying to import a vSphere VM into XenCenter and it is failing. I get messages in the log similar to "There was a failure

communicating with the plugin", " Failed to add resource Hard Disk Image, "Failed to import a VM over iscsi". Fails basically

while it's trying to import the vmdk.

I am new to XenCenter, please give me as much info as you can spare!

VMWare to XenServer isn't exactly straightforward. I went from XenServer to VMWare and that isn't straightforward either.

I don't think the OVF format used between both quite crosses over right. If you can export the VMDK it might be easier to

find a copy of XenConvert and go that route.
