XenApp 7.6 in vMware Workstation

Hello Citrix forum, I am building a dirty lab for testing XenApp 7.6, so just my own POC for learning.

 

1xDC | Windows Server 2019 |  4GB RAM | 60GB HD

1x XenApp01 | Windows Server 2016 | 4GB RAM | 60GB HD

 

I've been able to install Delivery Controller and Studio, but when the install moves to Director I get the following error and, the log is not telling me much:

 

Citrix.MetaInstaller.MetaInstallerException Installation of MSI file 'DesktopDirector.msi failed with code 'InstallFailure' (1603)

 

1) I thought perhaps it was ram, so upgraded the vRAM from 2GB to 4GB - do not resolve

2) I thought perhaps for a lab, Director does not like being on the same server as Delivery Controller and Studio, so built another XenApp02, but get the same error

According to Citrix docs, XenApp 7.6  is not supported in Windows Server 2016.

You could try to use XenApp 7.15.
