Windows 10 MCS Desktop Image Prompting For Credentials, and defaulting to local admin username

chide406

Question

Hi all.

I have pushed out an image via Machine Creation Services, and used a local administrator (i.e. ".\Administrator") to seal the image.

I ran Citrix Optimiser and BIS-F prior to shutdown and snapshot.

When I've rolled the image out, and users are trying to launch the desktop, they get the Windows 10 Logon Prompt, and the username defaults to the local administrator (i.e. ".\Administrator") that I used to seal the image.

They have to select "Other User" and manually type in their credentials (DOMAIN\username)

Any ideas?

was the gold image already domain-joined when you sealed  the image?

Also, i normally set the GPO to not display last user name

and autoselect domain

@chide406, I am also seeing this issue with a newly created MCS image.

When I launch the desktop it gives an error for incorrect username or password and appears to be trying to login as the local administrator account. I then have to select other user and I can login with my domain user account no problem.

Did you ever find out what was causing this or if there is a fix?

Nick
