Citrix Hypervisor 8 (xenserver) - SNMP MIBs download

Hi, Where can we download or the location of Citrix Hypervisor 8 (xenserver) - SNMP MIBs?

 

Our monitoring application is not able to do API calls and so snmp is the only way.

but I would need the actual MIB file for the hypervisor or xenserver so that we could import it on our monitoring application or system...

 

I hope someone can give me a link or location in the xenserver itself where the MIB file is located or can be downloaded..

Depends on what you are wanting to monitor. Some generic stuff you can see through generic mibs, but

if you want more you might be able to install an agent for XenServer for your hardware if 

its mainstream.

Thank you for your response.

 

I had a check on the snmpd.conf on the xenserver and it has the common or standard things to monitor a Linux server.

 

I would like to ask whether is there a way to monitor i.e. dom0, GPU, HBA, etc. on a xenserver through a mib?

 

But I think for the hardware (i.e. HBA), I think we might install the HP agent on the xenserver, is this right?

For hardware, yes, I would think you could install the agent for XenServer from HP (If they have one) and 

then could poll hardware with SNMP. I do this with Fujitsu. For Dom0 I just rely on the alerting settings 

within XenServer.

You just have to open the SNMP port on the XS firewall and then you can use external queries to gather all sorts of SNMP data from a XS host. This doesn't involve any installations on the XS hosts themselve,s which could void support agreements.
