parent domain error on xenserver,please help!

Removing old log files and patches is a good idea and will only be beneficial. I would suggest not removing the most recent (current) log file as that can cause sometimes problems in Linux with file rotation scripts or logging, period, as there is expected to be the active file present. You should be good following the advice and procedures of that KB.

Once you clear out files there are times you have to restart XenServer for the space to be show free again.

Also, you must be on a 6.x or earlier or a 7.x that has been upgraded keeping the original file system. Starting

with 7.x the partitions were expanded and running out of space rarely occurs anymore.
