parent domain error on xenserver,please help!

hi all,

   i have a problem of parent domain error on xenserver due to file system on control domain is full.according to article no.CTX202821,as applied solution for this problem ,are any of these steps will harm linux system or its files on xenserver?

Removing old log files and patches is a good idea and will only be beneficial. I would suggest not removing the most recent (current) log file as that can cause sometimes problems in Linux with file rotation scripts or logging, period, as there is expected to be the active file present. You should be good following the advice and procedures of that KB.

Once you clear out files there are times you have to restart XenServer for the space to be show free again.

Also, you must be on a 6.x or earlier or a 7.x that has been upgraded keeping the original file system. Starting

with 7.x the partitions were expanded and running out of space rarely occurs anymore.

 i used these Cmds :

# df –h                           

# rm –rf /var/log/*.gz      

so the space of root decreased to 60% and the xenserver01 recovered and mirrored with xenserver02 successfully.

Good news. Moving to the new partition layout will fix this 99% of the time.
