Citrix Universal Print Server Explanation

Florent GUILLOT

Question

Hello,

I'm here to get information about Citrix Universal Print Server

(Sorry I do not speak English)

Futur Environment: Xen Apps 7.15 CU4
In user sessions 99% of printers are mapped from the Windows Print Server (GPO)

- This CUPS option is a layer that is installed over the Windows Print Server?

The assignment of printers can be done as per GPO?

- At the parameter level is it possible to set defaults like windows default (example a4 and black / white)?

Yes CUPS is software that is installed on a computer that acts as a Windows Print Server.

The assignment of printers can be done using the Citrix (not Microsoft) Policy Settings "Session Printers" and "Printer Assignments" which are edited using Citrix Studio or Microsoft group policy editor.

Print job settings can be overridden for each network printer connection.
