Connecting to Citrix server from a custom app

I'm looking for a way to connect to Citrix server from a Windows based custom application.

I developed an application that gets Citrix Store URL from an user, and opens Internet Explore with the given URL so that the user can connect to Citrix server.

However, I want to expand this application so that it can connect to Citrix server without using Internet Explore. (The end goal with the application is to get information such as user id, password, full screen option, etc., and pass the information to connect to Citrix server directly).

I believe there must be a SDK or API that enables an application to communicate with Citrix server.

 

I would appreciate if I could get some help solving this issue or get addressed with somebody who can help me with this issue.
