XenServer 7.6 and PVS Server some VM not starting after automatically reboot

Marc Gemp1709157697

Question

hi, we have Xenserver 7.6 and the last update recorded. (on the XenServer version does not really care for the problem) We use the Citrix PVS for about 200 servers. We restart all servers at night. Unfortunately, there are always different server 0-4 pieces that are simply off the next morning.

Is there a LOG on the XenServer or the possibility to save the console output?

Unfortunately, we can not see why the servers do this from time to time.

That is correct regarding logging; you have to manually configure the rsyslogd utility to enable messages to be logged.  Also, you can run "dmesg -E" to enable messages to go to the console from dmesg. The dmesg utility can also be used to change the log levels.

To fix logging, you'll need to modify the file /etc/rsyslog.conf and you can find exactly what to do down in this great article:

under the blog entry "Dundee is now XenServer 7.0!".

@mgemp432 Have you found any resoultion to your issuse regarding PVS and XenServer 7.6? We have the same problem but worse because after upgrade to XS 7.6 some servers hangs at Windows Logo or do not start at all. May be related to your issuse.

Thanks.
