file export to redirected drive - slow

Erlend Oslashyen

Question

Hi

we have a application where the users have the option to export data to a excel file.

when the users selects the client drive to store the excel file export, the export job takes very long time to complete minutes for a small file.

using process monitor we can see that the application is open>writing the file until the export is complete.

exporting other formats from the same application is fast, so i think it's the way the application is writing to the excel file instead of creating the file on a temp folder and moving it.

when we use the exact same function on 2008R with XenApp 6.5 the export to client drives completes in seconds

we are currently running 2016 with 7.15 LTSR

any ideas on how to fix this, or iof it's already fixed in the current XenApp release?

Hi, yes we did

configure the following registry setting on the VDA:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\picadm\Parameters]
"EnableCcReadCache"=dword:00000001
"EnableCcWriteCache"=dword:00000001

is only a limited number of operations in a small number of applications that is behaving this way.
