Event ID 5 error in Windows Application log

Bill Clark1709159029

Question

Have (x2) servers that run Xenapp StoreFront & Director together.  Both servers have numerous errors in the Windows Application event log.  The error is as follows:

Event 5, Citrix Director Service

The description for Event ID 5 from source Citrix Director Service cannot be found.  Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted.  You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Has anyone seen this before, and if so, what is it referring to?  We've had a few hiccups with these servers but for the vast majority of the time, they run good and we don't have issues processing user requests and the whole system works fine.

Hi Bill,

To resolve this issue, configure the following registry values on all the Controllers in the site and reboot.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters
Name: MaxTokenSize
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 48000

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
Name: MaxFieldLength
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 48000

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
Name: MaxRequestBytes
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 12288000

Please refer to https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX208712 for more details. Please let me know if this helps.
