Citrix Receiver Prompt for Install in Transformer Kiosk Mode

Hi,

 

I'm working on a project where we need to convert existing fat client into Kiosk mode desktop with access to citrix Storefront. I have setup Citrix WEM 4.4 with Transformer mode enabled on a fat clients running windows 10 or windows 7 but i always get a prompt to install Citrix Receiver when kiosk mode is enabled. If i use the process launcher to start Internet Explorer in kiosk mode everything works fine and i dont get a citrix receiver install prompt. 

 

Did anyone else experience this behaviour? and got it fixed?

I think this is a limitation of the product.

 

You can disable Client Detection in StoreFront. But this disables desktop auto-launch.

Disabling  client detection ( protocolHandler enabled="false" ) doesn't resolve the issue. SF still prompt to install receiver . Even when i skip detection manually and logon to Storefront desktop wont start either.

#2 same issue here 4.4  with Windows 10.

 

Whole Version seems buggy, can not replace the shell with the agent either (5min waiting for desktop to be ready before launching the kiosk..)

I have seen an instance of this issue where (re)installing Receiver after the WEM Agent resolved this issue.

I understand this is and old post.  I was having this problem with XenDesktop 7 1912 running a WEM Transformer in Kiosk,  For whatever reason I kept having the message to ReInstall the Receiver.  Luckily I for this old post and Carl's comment.  This worked

How to disable Receiver client detection in StoreFront

 

StoreFront 3.xUse a text editor to open the web.config file for Receiver for Web. This is typically located in the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\storenameWeb\ directory, where storename is the name specified for the store.

Search for protocolHandler

 

Change <protocolHandler enabled="true" to <protocolHandler enabled="false"

 

Save web.config file and restart IIS Admin Service

 

Restart IIS

 

from a Command Prompt:  "as administrator" IISreset /noforce
