Srinivasan Kumaresan
We use storefront 2.1 in mixed farm presentation server 4.5,Xenapp 6.5 and xendesktop 4.0, one day all of a sudden application enumeration failed only for 4.5 farm. a refresh in the webpage or logoff and login will bring the application icons back. this continued for two days. Citrix support helpded in re configuring timeout setting in storefront servers. this did not fix the issue. Then after sometime slowly issue got automatically resolved. below events repeated frequently in storefront servers during the issue. 1. All the Citrix XML Services configured for farm <4.5 farm name> failed to respond to this XML Service transaction.2. An error occurred while attempting to read information from the Citrix servers: Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.. This message was reported from the XML Service at address http://xxxserver name/scripts/wpnbr.dll [NFuseProtocol.TRequestLaunchRef]. The specified Citrix XML Service could not be contacted and has been temporarily removed from the list of active services.3. A socket has been forcibly destroyed by the transaction layer. we also have a UAT environment where we did not face this issue.we are still receiving event 4003 in all production storefront servers-> All the Citrix XML Services configured for farm <4.5 farm name> failed to respond to this XML Service transaction. Did anyone else faced this issue?
Sam Jacobs
According to eDocs, Presentation Server 4.5 farms are not supported by StoreFront 2.1.
Kailas S
Hi Even if you see the option on Store Front Manage Delivery Controllers on XenApp6.5 (or earlier ) Tab, that is not included with PS4.5. In this case you can still use Webinterface5.4 sepreately for PS45 farm or else you should upgrade PS4.5 to latest.
CarlStalhood
Presentation Server 4.5 and XenApp 5.0 for Windows 2003 are the same thing (two names for one product). Once HRP05 is installed on CPS 4.5, it is renamed to XA 5.0. So yes, it is supported according to eDocs - http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/dws-storefront-26/dws-system-requirements-server.html However, XenApp 5.0 is EOL. Srinivasan Kumaresan
Hi Sam/Kailas/Carl, Thanks for your response, we are aware and migrating our environment from 4.5 to 6.5. This may take some more time and we would still need storefront to include 4.5 farm. As I already mentioned this issue is currently resolved but still we are receiving the above mentioned alerts and worried if the issue may reoccur. http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/357924-be-careful-with-ms-hotfixupdate-2992611-if-you-use-xml-on-443/ Based on above discussion we found micorsoft re released patch KB3018238 on december 9th, we tested this in UAT and installing in production now. Srinivasan Kumaresan
Hi Kailas, this did not help us :-( Patch upgrade completed last week but still we are receiving lot of 4003 events, also we got spinning wheel issue two times (users getting spinning wheel when logged in to website), rebooted storefront servers to fix this. dale scriven1709154513
If the spinning wheel issue persists an the storefront servers do not have native internet access do the attached to resolve the problem. http://vhorizon.co.uk/slow-logons-to-citrix-web-interface-or-storefront/
Srinivasan Kumaresan
Hi Dale, Thanks for your response, I should try your suggestion later in dev environment and update you. I am wondering how a reboot of storefront server fixes this?
Srinivasan Kumaresan
Hi All, I have not yet upgraded storefront but the enumeration issue or spinning wheel issue did not reoccur. Srinivasan Kumaresan
1. All the Citrix XML Services configured for farm <4.5 farm name> failed to respond to this XML Service transaction.2.An error of type IMA with an error ID of 0x80000001 was reported from the Citrix XML Service at address http://XXXXX/scripts/wpnbr.dll [NFuseProtocol.TRequestAppData].
