Citrix NetScaler AI Gateway + Protecto: Securing Enterprise LLM Traffic

Enterprises are pushing AI into production faster than their controls can keep up, and sensitive data reaches LLMs from more places than most teams realize, including user prompts, agent workflows, and AI applications. Traditional firewalls and regex-based tools often struggle to identify PII and PHI in natural-language traffic. It requires semantic understanding, and blindly stripping data breaks and context the model needs.
This session shows how Citrix NetScaler AI Gateway and Protecto solve this together at the infrastructure layer. NetScaler serves as the control plane for AI traffic (routing, policy enforcement, authentication, rate limiting, and observability) while Protecto adds context-aware detection that masks or tokenizes sensitive data before it reaches the model, preserving meaning so responses stay accurate. We’ll walk through the end-to-end request flow and integration architecture in detail, cover both the block-on-detection and mask-and-continue enforcement patterns and show it all working live demos.
