Running Windows 10 Pro on an MSI laptop with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card and an Intel UHD Graphics 630 card/chipset.  All drivers are the latest available and I have all current Windows updates and the latest version of Citrix Workspace as downloaded and updated from the Citrix website - 18.10.0.20023.  I am using the laptop screen, not an external display.

I can log in to my virtual desktop but the screen does not refresh when I click something or open a new program on my virtual desktop.  If I close and then re-establish the session, I can see the effect the previous actions have taken as only then is the screen refreshed.

Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

    ** Update 18/12 **

I have been in contact with the manufacturer, MSI who, after telling me to update the BIOS and downgrade the nVidia video driver to the one on their website (as opposed to the one published by nVidia)  suggest it might now be a compatibility issue with Windows 10 Pro.  I very much doubt that Workspace and Windows 10 Pro don't play well together and I suspect that something with the laptop hardware and/or its config is to blame, which was the reason I went to MSI for support in the first place.

If anyone has had similar issues with the same or different hardware, what did you do to fix it?

Please open a support case if not already so that the team can look into this further.

    Thanks

I am having an issue connecting to my XenApp apps and desktops. When I attempt to connect using HTML5 receiver, web access on the Android app, or Workspace on iPad, it is trying to websock connect me direct to the VDA. For obvious reasons, this does not work. I am not sure where I went wrong however. I am including a log from my attempt to access from a Chromium based browser on my phone.

    NS Version: NS12.1 49.23.nc

    XenApp: 7.15 LTSR CU2

    HTML5 Receiver: 18.9.1.4047

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Do you see any errors on the VDA event log?

    Hello,

we use the latest 12.1 build 51 release of citrix adc with virtual desktops 1812 and citrix workspace app 1812.

EDT is not used at the moment.

Within netscaler mas 12.1 i see hdx insight data of the user sessions, but in director in the user session details at the bottom there are no insight data available. (no data to display)

With other clients, for examle linux there is hdx data available to display.

    Is this known ?

are you saying you are able to see the data in netscaler mas 12.1 when user is using workspace app 1812?

what transport is used when the data is shown in director for the cwa 1812 sessions at the top panel of the session information?

    Thanks

We are in the process of updating/migrating our XA 6.5 farm over to XA 7.15 LTSR.

    Site is setup

We were able to migrate some servers just by running vda install on them (would pull the XA 6.5 and then install VDA).  Most however error out with Error1.

Could not find cause then decided to move on and do some manually.

Wrote some scripts to uninstall all the xa 6.5 stuff that looked like we should pull it.

All good then we could run the VDA install on most servers and it would join the site and all is good.

EXCEPT for one bunch of servers.  These servers, for reason not worth trying to explain here, were ZDC's and application hosts.  Not sure if relevant but thought should mention.

Testing we cloned the server and created new one in the farm with same image, however it is not showing as a ZDC.  Good/Bad not really sure but moving on.

When we try to move them over we run our scripts to uninstall all the xa65 stuff. All goes well.  We run the VDA install which works.

Problem starts at the Citrix Studio end.

Can create the Machine Cat for the server(s).   Test Machine catalogue passes.

First thing I noticed is that in the search \Servers OS Machines no sessions reported.  It is saying the machine is registered but if I logon to the box via RDP that session is not reported (as it is on the servers that are working).

Second thing is that if I try to create a Delivery Group for this set of servers it can not resolve the application loaded from the startmenu.

Start Menu shortcuts could not be retrieved

             Error ID: XDDS:5C0D509B

Tried the stuff with giving network services rights on the start menu no luck.  Think the problem is somewhere else

Went thru CTX136668/CTX207624/CTX126992 and did not identify the problem.

Saw this when running PS command of off Controller:

    Get-BrokerMachineStartMenuShortcuts -MachineName idir\OURSERVERNAME

Get-BrokerMachineStartMenuShortcuts : Start menu shortcuts could not be retrieved
     At line:1 char:1
     + Get-BrokerMachineStartMenuShortcuts -MachineName idir\OURSERVERNAME
     + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
         + CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (:) [Get-BrokerMachineStartMenuShortcuts], SdkOperationException
         + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Citrix.XDPowerShell.Broker.NoStartMenuShortcuts,Citrix.Broker.Admin.SDK.GetBrokerMachine
        StartMenuShortcutsCommand

Any suggestions welcome.  If we can't fix will have to rebuild silo tight for time trying to avoid that if possible.

During VDA installation - How did you configure the DDC info?

How may DDCs are there in your setup?

Please grab CDFtraces from all ddcs and the VDA while you are able to reproduce the issue of cannot resolve the applications message from start menu.

I would suggest you log a support ticket if you are able to see the issue so that this will get looked by relevant team members.

    Thanks

  5. Hi,

We have a XenApp 7.13 farm where our users access a full desktop.

We also have some different published applications.

So we have installed Citrix Receiver 4.8 on our VDA's and connected them to a store on our StoreFront servers where we have the published applications.

We started experiencing that the login times increased slowly. I found out that C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Citrix\SelfService\Icons started was huge. It contains many copies of  the icon files for the published applications. And everytime I open the Receiver and press "Refresh apps" there is added another copy of the icon file.

Some users had up to 40.000 icon files and 8-10GB of data.

For now I have excluded the folder in UPM and cleaned some of the profiles.

But I need to figure out why this happens. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Same issue here:

    https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/383459-appdataroamingcitrixselfserviceicons-growing-up/

please open a support case so that some one from the support could assist you further.

    Thanks

It may be helpful if you provide full logs.  If this is consistently reproducible for you please log a ticket with support and get these looked by Installer SME.

    Thanks

  7. Checking with StoreFront experts, this could be the conflict in the configuration between NetScaler and StoreFront. It could be the gateway name mentioned in Storefront servers NetSclaer settings may be not not matching with Gateway-Headers.

Please enable tracing as above link and repro this error to capture debugviewer logs and share to me. Hope the new logs might give some insights...

    Thanks

  8. Is there someone specialist, who can help me with my Problem ? The Issue is not resolved.

    Many thanks

Please check your NetScaler configuration? may be you could build a new one following above document and see first before you alter any.

You may contact citrix support team to get some assistance with your current configuration to identify what is miss configured.

You can send me your network diagram and ip configuration along with your current ns.conf as a direct message if you want. I will see if I can get this looked by an SME from NetScaler.

    Thanks

    Kishore

  9. As Santosh mentioned, you should see 443, has this every worked for you with previous NetScaler version or previous XA/XD version vda in your setup?

To rule out the configuration issues, can you please check on the VDA machine with in windows firewalls, do you see the firewall rules are applied correctly.

Please refer to the http://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-13/secure/tls.html for configuration details to be sure you did not miss any configuration on the VDA side.

    Thanks

    Kishore

  10. Thanks for the htmlreicever logs. Is this an SSL enabled VDA?

Also what OS you are seeing this issue on?

We might need an wireshark trace on the client machine from your setup while connecting via NSG and attempting to launch the resource via htmlreceiver.

Could you please share the error you see with windows receiver in your setup?

    Thanks

    Kishore

  12. Hey all,

i have Problems with my Netscaler and HTML 5 Receiver. It works fine (intern/interlly), but from outside through the Netscaler i get an error: (I`ve enable the Logging in Firefox / Console), unable to connect to the Server ... local Address of CTX VDA Server.... Port: 8008. But only from outside.

I`ve tried to telnet the Port from the Server, but it wont work. Then i`ve looked with netstat -an if there is a listen to the Port an it is. But i am not able to telnet the Port.

    Anyone can help ?

PS: Installed is the newest Citrix Version (7.13) with Netscaler 11.1.

Could you please share the htmlreceiver logs and browser debugging tools for the failure?

Also when you see this failing in your setup, do you see any event on the VDA machine?

Can you provide the exact NS version you are using after 11.1.?

    Thanks

    Kishore
