  1. I'm wondering where people are on this questions. Which container solution do you prefer in your architecture going forward for your profile management?

I have issues with both of these preventing me from adopting either.

    FSLogix:

    • Stability issues, vdisk dismount errors, corruptions etc.
    • Multiple vendors involved for support.

    Citrix UPM:

    • No exclusion of folders - all subfolders in the chosen folder are included in the vdisk.
    • No multi-session support.
    • Is it Future-proof with FSLogix now being free.
  2. It turns out smart card redirection is also affected by remote desktop session host policies blocking smart cards. This was part of our default policy on our 2019 servers. So changing the policy Computer / administrative templates, windows components, Remote Desktop Services, Remote Desktop Session Host, Device and Resource Redirection - "Do not allow smart card device redirection" to not configured fixed the issue.

Sometimes I need to remember to look at other policies and settings than just Citrix specific ones. :)

Hi, how did you guys fix it... i still have same issue as rversteegen...

windows 10 1803 and roaming profile - checked all directories to mirror and synch settings, but still no luck...

Did you ever get this fixed? We have the issue aswell with 1803. My folders to mirror list:

    AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies

    AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCookies

    AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache

    AppData\Local\Microsoft\Vault

    AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

  4. Hi

I'm having an issue with Windows Server 2019 and VDA 1906. I'm unable to get the smart card redirection feature working. The HDX channel remains idle even though the workspace app says the device is correctly optimized.

I have done all the normal steps of enabling class 0b on both client and server and allowing USB rediretion and UPnP. I have verified with the same GPO settings on a server 2016 - here it works from the same client.

Has anyone successfully done smart card redirection on Server 2019?

  5. We have the same issue on several images after upgrading from VDA 1802.2 to VDA 1903 - I haven't tested with VDA 1906.

I have only seen it on Windows Server 2012 R2 and with newer versions of Adobe Reader DC. If I roll back adobe to older versions, the error disappears.

The error seems to revolve around this executable "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroCEF\RdrCEF.exe". I can fix it by setting compatibility mode for it, but this seems like a bad solution

I think classic policies have been depricated in ver 12 and removed starting with 13.

Too bad the nspepi tool is bugged in most builds. The output config of a full config conversion is the same as the original config. This makes it near impossible to do a conversion of current configuration. Also since you cannot run classic and advanced policies at the same time on bound session policies for instance, you need to perform the conversion manually in the ns.conf file, reboot and pray you haven't made any errors - (ie. it requires a large service window).

All in all, the lack of a decent transition process away from classic policies is impressively bad on Citrix behalf.

  7. I must say that Citrix quality assurance and testing has been severely lacking for the past year. I have always advocated going for newest stable release when creating new Citrix environments. But I've now come to a discussion.

I will not move anything to "evergreen" citrix.cloud.com. This is too unstable and performance is horrible for management tasks.

I will no longer install Current Release of Apps and Desktops. These have been full of critical errors for a long time.

I will start doing LTSR installations only. I will miss out on new features that really could help customers and generate positive feedback on Citrix as a whole, but that is a small price to pay for stability. There are currently no stable supported releases other than LTSR.

    Makes me sad :'(

  8. Hi. Any update on setting seamlessflags or other possible solutions? Disabling Active Accessibility hook has not fixed the issue for us. It has perhaps made it a bit better, but still night and day between 7.16 and 7.18 :(

    VDA 7.18

    Receivers 4.9 through 4.12

    Rollback to 7.16 fixes issues.
