    Hi all,

I'm curious how to configure e911 for WiFi. While subnets assigned to emergency locations correctly identify location for emergency call, BSSID linked to emergency location seem to have no effect.

In the docs I found this statement:

WLAN BBSID and {IPv4-IPv6; Subnet; MAC Address} of the endpoint where Citrix Workspace app is installed

does this mean I have to link both subnet AND BSSID to specific location?

our wireless network is not separated into subnets by locations how to make dynamic e911 work in this situation?

There is nothing to configure on the CITRIX side,  the entire feature is driven by Teams and admins need to configure it on the Teams Admin Center

Hi Fernando, I'm wondering you ever got an answer from MS?
In the meanwhile we found the issue is related to "new meeting experience" - as long you don't switch to "new meeting experience" click on URL opens only one Tab.. directly after switch and restart URLs open twice..

This should be fixed already in Ring 4..is it still happening with the new meeting experience?

Are you in GCC/GCC High/DOD rings?

    Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue with getting the Citrix HDX HTML5 Video Redirection Service  to start. NO matter what I do the service just wont start. And because of this Microsoft Teams is not optimised for calls in the VDI. Any advice on solving this issue ? Thanks in advance !

    VDA version?

Any entries in the Event Viewer?

Likely you need CDF traces and a support case.

    Good Day,

We have observed a behavior when opening a web links from Teams chats, the web links open in 2 tabs instead of 1 tab. This is observed with Teams running in new experience mode on VDI.

Tested on Windows 10 20H2 with MS Teams 1.5.00.21463 (64-bit). Citrix HDX Optimized

    VDA 2203 or 2203 CU1

I did break HDX optimization the issue is still present. Clearing Teams cache, will fix it temporarily till Teams prompts to restart for new enhancement experience and issue is back.

    Thought?

    Any help appreciated..

Easy to repro. Dont know what is the cause - let me ping Microsoft directly

Citrix HDX HTML5 Video Redirection does not start for some VDAs, after every nightly reboot we notice that some Citrix HDX services does not recover , even if we set the recovery to restart

Updated images 2x and 2 different version of teams

    1912.4000 CU4

You'll need CDF traces and a support case... not sure what could be going on.

    HI,

Does anyone know when teams are releasing there next new version for Citrix?

we are currently using Version 1.5.00.4689 (64-bit). Citrix HDX Optimized.

Be good to know when the next release is.

    That version is old.

But having said that, Teams optimization rarely requires a specific Teams msi version.

The exception was MultiWindow : for that you need 1.5.00.11865.

Multiwindow is also a pre-requisite for other features, like Background Blurring, and more.

I suggest you upgrade to that version at least.

  7. Give/Take Control is a composite feature.

User A can start sharing his screen and GIVE control to user B. User B would then be TAKING control (or rather he would REQUEST the control and User A sharing his screen would GRANT it).

So there are two sides to the story.

The problem is that in order to GIVE control, there is a Microsoft limitation for Linux, and the feature is only available for Windows and Mac at the moment.

Therefore Linux users can only REQUEST or TAKE control from another user (who obviously cannot be another Linux optimized user).

  8. This service is used for Service Continuity,

    https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace/optimize-cvad/service-continuity.html

It is part of the Connector, and is responsible for validating the Connection Lease (the evolution of ICA Files).

    More info here https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2020/12/17/citrix-cloud-and-workspace-resiliency-part-1/

And by the way, this service is also available on the VDA 2203, which removes the dependency on the connector for CLXMTP.

    Hi,

is it supported to use the CR VDA on LTSR to get the latest Teams Features in XENAPP? We have LTSR 1912 CU4 right now installed on the controllers. We will upgrade to CU5 next week. Are there any known problems when mixing VDA and Broker Versions? Our OS for XENAPP is Server 2016.

    Thanks

    Yes, you can, with caveats:

    https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX205549

Can a customer use a Current Release (CR) VDA with LTSR version Controller?

Customer deployments that mix CR and LTSR components are not eligible for the benefits of LTSR. For example, customers might want to retain their core management infrastructure components on the LTSR but move the VDA to the latest CR for certain use cases such as a new OS platform support (for instance, Windows Server 2022). In these cases, customers can mix LTSR controllers with CR VDAs, but customers should be well aware of the risks involved in running mixed servicing options environments. Here are some key things to remember in this situation:

The site is no longer LTSR compliant and not eligible for the benefits of LTSR including extended support.

VDA support will be via CR path and lifecycle. Please reference the Servicing Options product lifecycle pages for more information on CR support and maintenance periods.

The latest CR VDA only works with the most recent LTSR Controller with the latest Cumulative Update. E.g. 2106 VDA will work with the latest 1912 LTSR Controller CU only. Citrix will not go to any extended efforts to make the latest CR VDA work with LTSR Controller CUs.

Not all features available in a CR VDA might work in a mixed deployment as some features might require both management components and VDA upgrades. In some cases, a newer Citrix Workspace app might also be required. Please review the documentation to learn about specific feature support requirements.

Seeing an issue when Teams HDX optimization is enabled.  User sessions slow down considerably, with lag typing in Outlook, Word, and other apps.  Not resource related, can reproduce with a single user on a server.  FSL profiles, have recreated, no difference.  AV exclusions added.  Tried disabling Outlook plugins, closing apps, etc.

If HDX Optimization is turned off within Citrix policies then there is no lag encountered.

Running latest Teams 1.5.0.x, latest Windows CWA, 1912 VDA. published 2016 Desktops.

    Thanks.

Hi - we dont have any known issue like that, but I am monitoring your support case and will contact the engineer assigned to it to bring this case to resolution.

Does the latency increase as soon as you launch Teams, or is there any specific event (like joining a meeting) that triggers it?

Are you using the Citrix CQI to measure latency?

    Dear all,

I've been seeing frequent issues with optimized Teams meetings in my CVAD deployment. It seems like a "black box" is being overlayed onto the video meeting window. The "black box" always remains at the same spot and moving or resizing the video meeting window results in the "black box" staying in the same place and size.

    Full screen window:

    resized window, i.d. smaller:

What does this mean? Misconfiguration in terms of Teams optimization?

The following software components are in place:

    • CVAD 7 2012 VDA
    • Windows 10 Pro 21H2
    • Microsoft Teams 1.5.00.8070 (64-Bit), Citrix HDX Optimized

The following policies are in place:

In case you guys need more information, just let me know. Many thanks

    Alex

     CWA version and platform OS?

Can you repro this consistently? Does it happen on other VDA versions, when connecting from the same endpoint?

And vice versa, does it repro when connecting to the same VDA from a different endpoint?

Teams cannot be misconfigured to expose such an artifact.

And just to confirm, 2012 VDA?

  12. Also, in the webrpc logs (AppData\Local\Temp\HdxRtcEngine in your laptop/client machine, not the VDA), you should find a lot of entries with info on the proxy detection.

Just search for the word 'proxy'.

    E.g.:

[1618.138] Apr 01 10:19:20.3 webrtcapi.http_proxy Info: CreateClientTcpSocket: Checking proxy configuration.

and more after that one. Can you paste the entries here?

Aplogies. 1912 LTSR CU 6. Our proxy requires NTLM authentication but can be configured to use the clients IP to allow/deny though not preferable. We do NOT set a winhttp proxy as it does not support NTLM. We define it in Internet Explorer -> Internet Options as follows:

Can you make a test, and try to configure the Proxy from the Win10 Settings menu instead, and try again?

I have a specfic requirement for the MS teams optimization engine running in the Citrix Workspace app 1912 CU5 to direct it's traffic through a web proxy. This seems to be possible as outlined here. How does one configure this? From testing it seems to be ignoring my proxy settings as defined in internet options on Windows 10 21 H2 with Citrix Workspace app 1912 LTSR CU6

Sorry, are you using CWA 1912 CU5 or CU6? Not clear.

Proxy does not require any config, CWA will read it automatically from the OS.

How is it configured on your endpoint?

Can you paste the result of this cmd command:

    >netsh winhttp show proxy

Can you check via Wireshark if packets are being sent from the endpoint to the proxy?

Does your proxy require any auth?

    Negotiate/Kerberos, NTLM, Basic, and Digest?

    Pac files?

audio is fine but in settings, camera preview shows blank screen and within meetings can't enable the camera.

Also to add to this remote users that are on Laptops/MACs have same issue as they remote in.

    Any ideas?

Microsoft just reverted a change on their backend servers which fixes this issue. Please sign out and sign back into Teams.

Hi, is there a solution to this problem in the meantime?

2203 CWA for Windows LTSR has an Early Access Release,

    https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/betas-and-tech-previews/workspace-app-tp-for-windows-1912LTSR-cu.html

We introduced support for Secondary Ringtone in that release.

There is a pending update in Teams that needs to happen for the feature to work.
Whenever Microsoft has the ETA, it will be published here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=citrix

At least you can plan ahead now and try to adopt the upcoming 2203 release while Microsoft finalizes the Teams update.

The Teams update will not require a new Teams MSI version, it will be a silent update after a log off/log on.
