Liam Fynn Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) Hi all, We have recently built a 2402 LTSR CVAD on premise infrastructure (2 DDC(inc 1 of these for which includes licence server) + 2 PVS) We use an F5 BigIP iapp as our gateway and storefront (chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/citrix-vdi-iapp-dg.pdf). We use this configuration on our prod platform so basically the F5 replaces both Netscaler and Storefront. Authentication and enumeration appears to work OK and the f5 creates the HTML and presents the icons to launch. I can launch the first icon of any app OK. When I try to launch another app on the same delivery group it wont launch (whilst the first app is running). I have checked and all of the below parameters under get-brokerapplication are set to 0 which should allow unlimited (dependent on load) applications in understand. MaxPerMachineInstances MaxPerUserInstances MaxTotalInstances I have also verified that the delivery group is configured to launch multiple instances of applications. I have tested creating a new delivery group and used a different VDA(ie a different OS etc). Every time I try to launch the second app a log is recorded in the CItrix / Broker log ; - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Citrix-XenDesktop-BrokerMonitor" Guid="{2386f16f-1b93-4f2b-91a8-0de5adfa092a}" /> <EventID>42</EventID> <Version>2</Version> <Level>4</Level> <Task>1</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8000000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2024-10-04T04:13:22.4651448Z" /> <EventRecordID>7975</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="2824" ThreadID="9024" /> <Channel>Citrix-XenDesktop-BrokerMonitor/Operational</Channel> <Computer>DDCNAME.contoso.com</Computer> < I have edited this line but it gives the actual DDC <Security UserID="S-1-5-20" /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="EventTime">2024-10-04T04:13:17.8830000Z</Data> <Data Name="SessionKey">{b0c92eab-1b43-4213-91f4-c6600ebdf221}</Data> <Data Name="ApplicationId">{05856ce1-72fb-4e06-b389-86b560314c40}</Data> <Data Name="FailureReason">4</Data> </EventData> </Event> Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be configuration on the F5? (Basically no ICA downloads for the second app, just an error appears saying you cant launch it, if you close your existing session you can launch an instance of any app. If you launch published cmd you can launch apps within the cmd which work ok, its just when you try to download the second ICA?)? Any help appreciated. Many Thanks Edited October 7 by Liam Fynn Corrected
Jeff Riechers Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Looks like something with the APM and session-sharing. This has been an issue with F5 apms off and on for years.
