Balaji Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Hi All, I am testing MS Teams 2.x App deployment using App Packages from web studio by following the tech zone article... I set up things as per the article, but when i Login a user into a Non-persistent VDA (Windows 11), I dont see MS Teams in my login... I just followed the pre-requisites as mentioned and uploaded msix package to web studio. Finally added the package to Delivery group. Any thoughts... ?
1 Balaji Posted October 2 Author Posted October 2 We finally figured out the issue... In our Image Microsoft App-V Client service (AppVClient) was in Disabled state. I enabled / Started service in Master Image and updated the Machine Catalog. After a restart getting the updated snapshot, I was able to view the MS Teams 2.x Application as msix attached App. The Only Concern was the delay in viewing the App after login. It takes approx 3 - 5 minutes to view the App after login.
0 Yashu Arora Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Hey Balaji, can you please try with the new 2411 VDAs. we have made a few enhancements which should help it to load faster. Also have you tried delivering it as an app attach disk, we seem better launch times with that format. Here are some details from our findings: On a clean (Windows Server 2025) machine using Microsoft's PowerShell API Add-AppxPackage "\\AWFS-1F2W0.bvt.local\Application Packages\MSIX\External\Microsoft\MSTeams-x64.msix" teams takes around 1:30 to install. (in a few other tests the time varied between 1:19 and 1:41). Running the same command subsequently in a different user session takes just a few seconds. With Teams published to a desktop session through CVAD 2411. Our publishing process started about 12 seconds post logon and started processing the Teams MSIX package less than 1 second after that. Internally to our process (using the same API call as above) Teams took ~1:32 to publish itself In a multi session environment second and subsequent users should see it happen faster (edited) With App attach and our new prestaging: Prestaging of the AppAttach disk took about 5 seconds and Publishing to the user took 6 Seconds - A huge improvement over raw MSIX file
