Target Machine serial number changing-MCS

Hi Experts,

We created a catalog with MCS Provisioned method, we noticed that each time serial number changing when updating golden image and deploying to target machines as per the regular process. this is not impacting to the end users, but we want to know why the serial number changing.

Please someone guide me why the windows server serial number changing automatically when we update catalog?

Citrix MCS on Azure does no retain machines when they are powered down (or the catalog is updated) by default. The only thing that is left is a NIC and an Identity disk. MCS also uses full clone provisioning in Azure. 

So each update process, when your machines are updated, by default, they are destroyed, as is the OS disk. Then a new disk is created, a new VM is created, and the existing NIC and Identity disks are all glued back together. Rinse, Repeat
