MRF Posted September 9 Posted September 9 (edited) Hello everyone, Unfortunately, I have to open a post because I am at a loss and I need support :-/ I suddenly can no longer start applications via ica files. The loading access starts normally at first but then immediately ends in a popup showing a “reconnection”, see screenshot (sorry it is in german). Then a timer runs down for 2 minutes and a connection is not possible. The strange thing is that nothing has changed on the PC, apart from the usual Windows 10 updates. So I can't really say when it stopped working, or whether there is a cause somewhere. The Citrix farm of my company works, a connection to other clients works. My local company support can't help me any further (solution: create a new Windows account. But a new account is not an option for me. There are too many individual settings associated with the account). My client: - Windows 10 Home 22H2, 19045.4842 - Citrix Workspace 24.5.10.29 (latest version) - Kaspersky Internet Security 21.3.10.391 (but it also does not work if Kaspersky is completely deactivated or even inactive during installation. So far, there is no reason to suspect that it is due to the virus program.) - VPN software is installed. Mobile VPN with SSL client (VPN is not active. Connection to Citrix still does not work. I can't see any relation here so far, especially because VPN already existed when it was still working.) What I tried: - Uninstall / Install of Citrix Workspace - Older Workspace versions - ReceiverCleanupUtility.exe and new clean installation - Reset of Userdir Temp Directory (strangely enough, this worked once - the connection was then possible, but now it no longer works, even if I delete Temp again) The question would be, how can I find out from logs what the cause of this misbehavior is? I couldn't find any logs that would help me. Or does anyone else have ideas / insights as to why a Citrix connection may no longer work. It must be something special about the Windows account / registry. I also have the feeling that the Citrix Cleanup Tool cannot clean up everything from Citrix. When I search for Citrix in the registry I still find hits, even if the system is cleaned up. But I don't want to randomly remove keys that in the worst case make the system unusable just because there is an entry somewhere that has to do with Citrix. Many thanks for any support. MRF Posted September 10 Author Posted September 10 I have tried the following additional things - all without success: - Deactivation of Kaspersky incl. firewall - Deactivation of Windows firewall - Reset of Windows firewall - Various browsers, Chrome, Edge, Firefox - New citrix installation as Admin and Kaspersky deactivated (incl. firewall) - Other network adapter (WLAN instead of Ethernet) - Completely different network (mobile hotspot) Error code 2517 sometimes occurs in Citrix Workspace when trying to reconnect within 2 minutes.
Michael Adam Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Hello @MRF is this problem on more devices or only on yours? Do you see that problem in corporate LAN or from outside. If you are at home and use a DS-lite / IPv6-Dual-Stack Internet-Connection, than this could be a problem with EDT and MTU-Discover. For that you can disable in the WorkspaceApp using UDP and try again with TCP instead. You can use the CWA ADM-File and change the Key HDXoverUDP - https://admx.help/?Category=Citrix_Receiver&Policy=receiver.Policies.receiver::Policy_TransportProtocal Regards, Michael 1 2
MRF Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 (edited) Hello Michael, Thank you very much for your feedback. The access works with another device in the same network / internet, but it is a Windows 11 system. The access works with another device, in a different network / internet, and the device is similar to the device that does not work. I have not yet been able to test this device on the same network. Or I would have to try to test the 'problem device' on the other network. So far I have only tried to do without the regular internet connection and, for example, a mobile hotspot. Same behavior though. The connection is always in the private network - private client. So no company network. I was looking for the registry key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies does not contain a Citrix sub-folder. Also: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies No Citrix folder there. What exists: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Network But it contains no UDT sub-folder. I have now created the sub-folder UDT with the key “HDXoverUDP” and the value “Off” in it now. Unfortunately, it did not bring any change. I found also: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Network\ Tried the same here. Edited September 13 by MRF
MRF Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 @Michael Adam - ITCMA I have now created the complete registration path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Network\UDT And the result: Citrix opens the applications! Brilliant! I am observing the behavior and hope that it works permanently. Thank you very much!
