Booting to UEFI on Citrix Xenserver/Hypervisor 8.2

Sandy Williams

Has anyone been able to successfully get an OS layer built and deployed into an image where the boot option is UEFI?  I am using Citrix XenServer as my hypervisor.  I do use PVS but I have this issue even just adding a version to my OS layer where that boots to disk from Xenserver.  I opened a ticket with Citrix and was told UEFI isn't supported with Applayering/Xenserver which seemed a bit odd to me

Some background:

- created new OS layer where the boot was specified as UEFI

- created a new connector in App layering

- created a new template to base my connector on

- creating the OS layer and importing into App layering was successful.

-When the new version of my OS layer boots OR if I compile an image either to my Xenserver or PVS server it won't boot.  It gets stuck and what kinda looks like a prompt and doesn't even attempt to load OS.
