cannot connect to citrix xenapp server: the network is down

Just upgraded some of my VDAs to 1912 (from 7.15 LTSR) The following scenario is happening.

On an endpoint with CITRIX Receiver -> everything works fine

On an endpoint with CITRIX Workspace (any version) -> everything works fine

On an endpoint with CITRIX Receiver 14.9.8000.28 -> it's only partly working

    ->While on my network, if i connect my site which is via Netscaler I get the above mentioned error

    -> While on my network, if I connect directly to a storefront server, the applications work fine

    -> while off my network, if I connect to my site (which is netscaler) it hangs at "connection in progress"


I know the "quick" answer is to upgrade the Receiver versions, but i have 30+ machines that need to be upgraded and it will take some time, and I need 1912 or higher to run a specific application. I believe it's a setting I'm missing otherwise it wouldn't work off network or on network via storefront. Hoping somebody has seen this before and can point me in the right direction
