Windows 10 / Nvidia Grid No Full Screen session

Xavier Blackwood

Question

Hi,

Citrix support isn't very helpful anymore so I'm asking the forums.

We have used NVIDIA Grid gpus with Server 2016 & 2022 with success but now need to spin up Windows 10 VDIs for specific users. The issue is when using the Grid GPU cards, the sessions cannot go full screen and have a grey border around it. What am I missing here, hopefully something simple and not a bug. The sessions can go full screen without the GPU profile assigned.

VDA 2203 LTSR CU1.

Windows 10 22H2

XenServer 8.2

https://docs.nvidia.com/license-system/latest/nvidia-license-system-user-guide/index.html#configuring-nls-licensed-client-on-windows

On the Windows 10 VDI, check the following registry key

Key:   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\GridLicensing

Data: FeatureType

Value: 0

if not zero, set it to zero

Also, have you copied the client configuration token file created during the DLS installation/configuration, (to the gold image if provisioned) VDI in folder

C:\Program files\NVIDIA Corporation\vGPU Licensing\ClientConfigToken?

You need to reboot the VDI after this for the license to work

after the reboot, RDP onto the VDI and type the following

cd \Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI

nvidia-smi -q | findstr Licens
