HDX Virtual Channels

Derek Benak

Question

After upgrading My environment to CR 2203, I started to get system events 14 and 16. I was able to fix most by adding them to the allow policy for Virtual HDX Channels.

My issue is, I still have a handful of errors that reference channels with no calling program (process [not available]. Is there a way to trace the calling program or use wild cards in the policy? I suspect the blocked channels are causing problems

For instance

Event 16,

NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE tried to open custom virtual channel CTXLFP

Event 14

Custom virtual channel CTXLFP cannot be opened by process [Not available]

Thanks

I think it's easier that you disable the Citrix Policy : Virtual Channel Allow List on the server. The virtual channel driver on the client side cannot be used (invoked) itself without the initial communication from the server. You just need to make on the server that users cannot install any program with no permission. Citrix added this security check for nothing helpful.
