Teams Give/Take Control

Darryl Sakach

We have been working to getting Give/Take Control from a Citrix VDA working consistently. It just started appearing this week as an option. We are seeing it as an option with CWA 2207 and 2209, The VDA versions we are using are 1912 and 2203. What we are not able to get working consistently is which users are presented in the Give Control To pulldown. Sometimes a user will be present in the pulldown list and then minutes later the same person will not be present in the pulldown list. Some users get no attendees in the pull down list and other get all attendees in the pull down list. Again, this is the user list presented for selection of whom you want to give control to. The presence of lack of any given user appears to be related to the person trying to give control. In a meeting with three attendees User A might have User B and C in their Give Control list. User B might have nobody in their list. And User C might have just User A in their list. It seems that attendees on non-VDI devices consistently get all users in their list. VDA attendees get inconsistent behavior.

Quality of  network connectivity seems to play a role as attendees with lesser bandwidth more commonly appear to get few or no one in the list of Give Control options.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Is there logic within Teams Optimization that filters out Give Control eligibility, possibly based on network connectivity quality?

It will be very hard to support Give/Take Control on VDI when the feature behaves so unpredictably.
