Connection issue between hypervisor and Studio

Thomas SIBILLE

Question

Hi Everyone,

We have an on-prem environment : Citrix 2203 LTSR and Vmware 6.7

Since a few days, we noticed that scheduled reboots don't work anymore. It does stop the VMs but leaves them shut down.

Even through the Studio, we are not able to start the VMs again. The event viewer from the DDC shows :

Quote

EventID 3012

The Citrix Broker Service detected that power action 'TurnOn' (origin: Admin) on virtual machine 'XXX' failed.

This problem is most likely due to a host issue. Check that the configuration of the virtual machine on the host does not prohibit the requested power action. Verify that there are no storage problems on the host. Check that the host connection information is correct.

Error details:
Exception 'Failure in ResetVM, GeneralFailure' of type 'Citrix.Cds.HostingManagement.McsResetVMFailedException'.

The Citrix Broker Service successfully communicated with the Citrix Machine Creation Service, but the Citrix Machine Creation Service failed to reset the image for virtual machine '423905ef-3dfb-3009-c132-33c619558a39' on host connection 'vCenter04 - 0041' to its default state. This problem could be due to a timing issue or an internal error.

Error details:
Exception 'Failure in ResetVM, GeneralFailure' of type 'Citrix.Cds.HostingManagement.McsResetVMFailedException'.

In result, we are not able to update the machines anymore.

I already made the following tests :

- Restart DDC > no change

- Restart vCenter > no change

- Test hosting & resources from Studio > all Ok

- Check permissions of the account used by MCS in vCenter > Ok

Do you have any idea?

Thanks, Thomas.
