How to delay Menu Bar showing up in fullscreen mode on Mac M1?

Kyni Bandona

Question

For Intel Mac users this post with the following commands solves the issue. Not for me on a M1 Mac. Can anybody help me delay the menu bar as well?

For Intel Macs:

$ killall -KILL SystemUIServer

$ defaults write com.citrix.receiver.nomas MenuBarAutoShowDelayEnabled -bool YES

$ defaults write com.citrix.receiver.nomas MenuBarAutoShowDelay -float 10.0

If I read the com.citrix.receiver.nomas on my M1, it returns 1 and 10, so it is active, but citrix seems to ignore it.

Citrix Viewer 22.06.1.40 (2206)

macOS 12.4 (21F79)

Thankful for any help.

This is working perfectly in Citrix 2211 on an M1 mac. You need to run both "defaults" commands for this to work.

Even though MenuBarAutoShowDelayEnabled appears to be set to set by default, it doesn't actually work until it's entered in manually.

I set mine to a much more reasonable delay which lets me access the menu bar but avoid doing it accidentally.

defaults write com.citrix.receiver.nomas MenuBarAutoShowDelayEnabled -bool YES

defaults write com.citrix.receiver.nomas MenuBarAutoShowDelay -float 1.5

No need to kill SystemUIServer. Just quit Citrix Viewer and restart your citrix session.
