Limiting icmp unreach response from 978 to 199 packets/sec

Hi Everyone,

 

We are facing the problem when LB for DNS server

 

The Citrix Appliance get many ICMP packet: Destination unreachable ( port unreachable) ( Type:3 and Code:3)

 

When login to console display message: Limiting icmp unreach response from 978 to 199 packets/sec and sometime we unable connect to IP MGMT( test ping , telnet, ssh is timeout)

 

Is there any way to reduce ICMP code 3 for citrix ADC?

 

Please help us

Hi Cuong,

 

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Are you trying to throttle the ICMP response sent by the ADC, or is this regarding a PING monitor that is bound to the DNS service(group)? For the former, there's not much I can think of besides maybe playing with the ICMP rate control of the global system settings. In case of the latter, then you can create a custom PING monitor and modify its parameters as you require (e.g. increasing interval, increasing timeout, ...).
