Hyper-V hosting connection storage issue

vanderhof

Question

Hi

We are setting up a small Virtual Apps environment that is hoing to be provisioned with MCS with virtual machines in Hyper-V. The Hyper-V environment is new and running on Windows Server 2019. The Citrix environment was running on 1912 LTSR CU4 and now the Delivery Controllers have been upgraded to 2203 LTSR to see if that solved the problem but there was no change.

The problem we are having happens when creating a hosting connection.

The hosting connection itself has been created wiyhout any problems specifying server adress and the user credentials and we can select the Hyper-V cluster, which consists of two hosts, in the Storage Management window of the Wizard.

We then select "Use storage shared by hypervisors" without putting a checkmark in "Optimize temporary data....." and click Next. Immediately we get an error message saying "Unable to find any shared storage". If we select "Use storage local to the hypervisors" which also should be available we get the same error for local storage.

The user account used for creating the hosting connection is a member of the VMM Administrators role and the local Administrators group on the Hyper-V hosts. We have also tried with another administrator account which produces the same error.

We have a support case open with Citrix and they have analyzed logs from the process and they determined that the Hyper-V cluster is found and also the CSV (Clsutered Storage Volume) mountpoints for the two hosts and then for some reason the Hyper-V hosts are replying that there are no shares. Citrix is saying that the issue lies in Hyper-V which may be the case but so far we have not been able to find the issue.

Below is an extract from the logs but with host and domain names changed.

Any ideas that could help us solve this would be very much appreciated.
